availability & coat type
Bobtail Bernards are a foundation breed in development, so occasional variation occurs:
- Our goal is the signature “Wooly” coat (low-shed, no clipping required) – majority of each litter
- Smooth (shedding) coats, and Rough (extra long) – produced rarely; offered to approved pet homes.
Note: Because service placements come first, companion homes typically receive 2nd-pick and beyond. If you need a specific coat, sex, or task aptitude, early reservation is essential.
other paths to ownership
- Partially Trained Dogs Started in obedience & public-access skills; offered year-round on a first-come basis.
- Career-Change / Retired Service Dogs: Occasionally available when a dog’s talent or age shifts its role from task work to treasured family member.
- Retired Breeding Adults: Health-tested, house-trained adults placed at reduced fees to loving homes once they’ve completed their contribution to the program.
- Co-Ownership: For select homes wishing to partner with us in the breed’s development, we offer co-own contracts that include participation in future breeding or competition plans, reduced purchase fees, and continued mentorship.
